Board Member-At-Large (Volunteer Position)

The Pembina Valley Humane Society is a no-kill animal shelter in Morden, Manitoba, and serves 40 communities in the Pembina Valley. For over 20 years, the PVHS has been rescuing stray and unwanted animals, providing education on the humane treatment of companion animals, and providing valuable programs and services in the area.

The PVHS is a primarily volunteer-run shelter, with our volunteers taking on roles such as Board Members, Animal Care Attendants, Cat and Dog Enrichment, Brand Ambassadors, “Goodnight” Attendants, and more.

We are currently recruiting for a Member-at-Large position on our Board of Directors. A Member-at-Large on the PVHS board is a position in which there are no specific duties set forth, however the individual would be expected to assist in furthering the direction of the PVHS established by the Board. This would include active participation in discussions, strategic planning, and a willingness to participate on committees if needed.

The ideal candidate for the Member-At-Large position would possess a positive and creative personality, with a passion for animals. They would have a drive to make a difference in the Pembina Valley and a willingness to support our efforts within the community. Backgrounds in Human Resources, Education, Board Governance, and/or Animal Welfare/Health would be considered assets.

The time commitment for this role is approximately 10 hours per month on a 2-year term that is renewable.
