Educational assistants support the work of teachers and clinicians. Educational assistants are valued members of the school community as they make a significant contribution to the work of the school and toward the education of all students.

QUALIFICATIONS
-Grade 12 Education
-Experience working with children
-Educational Assistant Diploma will be asset
-First Aid and CPR Certificate(s)
-Good communication, observation, and documentation skills
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team
-Ability to follow program guidelines and Individual Educational Plans
-Ability to help student(s) focus and control their emotions
-Demonstrated proficiency in the use of personal computers and related software applications
-Previous experience working with students with exceptional needs will be an asset
-Willingness to assist with toileting and self-care needs
-NVCI or other Non-Violent-Crisis Intervention training is an asset

As a condition of employment, all new hires must complete a satisfactory criminal record check with vulnerable sector search, and child abuse registry check as part of the hiring process.
