Job Description:
Collaborate with specialists to develop programs for clients' special needs
Develop individualized education and intervention plans based on special needs of client
Provide literacy coaching and mentoring on phonological awareness using the Orton-Gillingham approach
Support development of reading and writing skills
Contact collateral interviews with family and/or school personnel
Perform administrative tasks
Requirements:
Education: Completion of a college program in special education, rehabilitation, orientation and mobility, visual impairment, hearing impairment or intellectual disability is required.
Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience working with school aged children is required. Experience teaching literacy (reading and writing) and knowledge of the Orton-Gillingham approach is required.

Salary: $27.47 hourly, 37.5 hours per week.

Important information: The worker will work six days a week. The regular work schedule is as follows:
Monday to Thursday – from 12 pm to 8 pm (it includes one unpaid 30-minute lunch break, and two paid 15-minute coffee breaks)
Fridays – from 12 pm to 3:30 pm
Saturdays - from 8 am to 12 pm
Sundays off.
Flexibility in schedule and work on weekends are required.
