Design Services Supervisor

Your contributions to the team:

Provide management of the design and engineering workflow for all projects
Identify and map project requirements, key personnel and assign responsibilities
Continually monitor the active projects and ensure that the materials are being delivered to facilitate the process from building permit to construction
Track, monitor and report the status of all projects to provide visibility so that all other departments can plan their activities accordingly
Work closely to with the design team to motivate and support their work efforts and address all challenges in a positive and supportive manner
Manage the engagement of sub-consultants including Structural, Mechanical and Electrical, and Building Envelope, and maintain a relationship with all consultants to deliver the best results
Develop, implement, maintain and enforce BIM, REVIT and CAD standards; producing procedures and guidelines
Ensure adherence to document management policies and procedures, using provided software
Maintain a high level of competency of all relevant software through continual training, research and workshop and seminar attendance, and train this among your staff
Manage applications through continual review and evaluation, recommending and incorporating updates as deemed necessary
Ensure proper documentation of all work, products and relevant activities
Maintain a highly organized team and be able to constantly prioritize and look for efficiencies and improvements in the process

What you need to be successful:

Post-secondary education in drafting, architecture or equivalent
Proficiency with BIM, CAD and REVIT applications
Minimum 10 years of experience in the construction industry
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to speak with all levels of the organization and convey technical information in a non-technical manner where required.
Proven ability to conduct presentations
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics and various other construction documentation
Analytical and creative thinker with the ability to follow through and complete overlapping projects
Knowledge of the National Building Code, Provincial Building Codes, Energy Code/Step Code
Mechanical and Electrical design experience
