Join our BARN TEAM and make an impact by helping run the horse program for campers and guests in May-August. This full-time seasonal position includes room and board and a bi-weekly honorarium. Scholarships are available for students returning to school in fall.

Job Purpose: To help run the horse program for campers and guests, to assist with horse activities & trail rides safely with all skill-levels, assist with keeping horses trained, tuned up and healthy.

Key Job Functions:

Horse Program
- Help run safe & effective riding programs for summer campers.
- Incorporate Biblical principles throughout the riding programs.

Horse and Facility Care
- Follow all procedures relating to horse care and maintenance.
- Assist in maintaining safe, clean & organized facilities (barn, pastures, etc.).
- Assist in maintaining horse tack & all riding equipment.

Be A Team Player
- Attend all team meetings.
- Follow Barn Manager & other leadership instructions
- Participate & interact with campers during camp schedule as role allows.
- Strive to be involved with, build, and maintain strong team relationships.

Skills, Attributes and Experience required:
- Personal values that match Winkler Bible Camp’s core values.
- Hard worker with a servant leadership mindset.
- Desire to work with people of all ages, but especially children
- Ability to handle and ride horses at at least a confident beginner level.
- Ability to teach the basics of riding and horse handling skills to all ages.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for 6-8 hours at a time.
- Average technological proficiency including using google calendar, google drive, emails, task management apps (to do, trello), text messaging apps (whatsapp), etc.
- Horse training ability is an asset but not required.

- Knowledgeable in all aspects of horse care considered an asset.
