Hanover School Division is located in Southeastern Manitoba with 19 schools in Steinbach and the surrounding municipalities and a student enrollment of 8,800.
The Human Resource Coordinator - provides assistance with Human Resource / Labour Relations functions within the Support Departments. They will be responsible for providing HR services to the Educational Assistants employee group and Division Administration Offices.
Main areas of responsibility are:
-HRIS system (CIMS), recruitment and selection, labour relations, performance management, coaching, and other HR programs and projects. They will also assist with Workers Compensation and Workplace Health & Safety reporting and coordinate Return to Work programs
This position reports to the Division's Human Resources Manager.
- Minimum 2 years of Human Resources experience.
- Must have experience in a unionized environment and must have expertise in recruitment and selection, workplace investigations and health & safety
- A post-secondary education in Human Resources is required
- Work experience in payroll and benefits, performance management and CIMS, is an asset.
- Computer experience in Microsoft Office Suite is required and payroll processing experience is preferred
- Experience with employee profile data entry, maintenance and troubleshooting of HRIS systems is necessary
Other requirements:
- Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to Divisional schools as needed
- Some evening work may be necessary for staff meetings or incident investigations at schools
- Successful (clear) completion of a Child Abuse Registry Check (Vulnerable Sector) and Criminal Record Check is mandatory
- Strong knowledge of current employement law matters, with a strong commitment to diversity management.

- Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently.
- Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines.
- Overtime may be required.
Hanover offers a very competitive salary and benefits package. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Salary range $26.49 to $34.56 per hour.
