We are looking for a passionate Senior News Reporter to join our team in Lacombe. Reporting to the Content Director, you will find and deliver relevant stories to our audience.
The Role:
Gathering local stories: You will listen for the questions people in your community are asking. Then you will find leads, interview sources, and verify information along the way.
Crafting content: You will write radio and digital news stories, prepare photo galleries, and edit videos.
Delivering news broadcasts: You will record and edit news reports for your local stations.
Cultivating local relationships: You will develop relationships with local stakeholders and news sources.
The Ideal Candidate:
You have proven experience in news reporting.
You have excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and are familiar with the Canadian Press Guide.
Experience with WideOrbit, Burli, photography, and/or videography are an asset.
You are dedicated to your craft. You aren’t afraid to cover stories outside of business hours.
You are eager to engage within the community.
You are curious and like to learn new things.
You have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
